My mother has been very happy here from the onset. The staff are amazing with her, they look after her so well, and they keep us informed about anything that’s going on. On Friday 25thNovember, team members from across the family arrived at Braxted Park in Essex to find it adorned with frosty decorations and a magical walkway to the winter-themed gardens. Our fundamental approach to promoting person-centred care is one based on partnerships, relationships, respect, choice and involvement.
With cases of respiratory illness (e.g., flu) on the rise we have decided to continue the use of face masks, as we have been, and we will reassess this as winter ends. We will continue to do all that we can to mitigate the risk of outbreaks within our care homes. In doing so we are supporting safe visiting practices considering the size and layout of the care homes. To be clear, visitors do need to continue to wear face masks.

The home is well run and all staff are friendly and professional. I couldn’t be happier knowing that my mum is being so cared for in this lovely home. My nan is so well cared for by staff who are incredibly patient and supportive. They’re always smiling and work so hard to ensure residents are happy and safe. My brother has lived at Brook House for over four years and has always enjoyed kindness and consideration, as well as receiving a high standard of care. His health condition means he needs a high level of support, and the staff at Brook House have been always been extremely caring and efficient.
The family was always made welcome at Buchan House and communication between us and the home was very good. Thank you for your commitment and ability to care. My husband really enjoyed his stay at Neath House. I would certainly recommend it to anyone else who needed respite. He is calm and relaxed, and all his carers have done a tremendous job making him feel very welcome in his new home. We simply would not want Dad to be anywhere else.

He is well cared for and treated by the staff with kindness and consideration. Our caring team of 12 nurses and 24 healthcare assistants provide 24-hour care. Peaceful location, nice outdoor spacious grounds with a lovely private courtyard for residents and visitors. There were various quality monitoring arrangements put in place by the provider, including audits and internal visits, surveys and meetings for people using the service and their representatives.
During our 3 1/2 years of your support, it has been most reassuring to have the continued, reliable care you provide. All backed up by your frequent re-assessments ensuring us of the best care possible to alleviate our needs. The stability and teamwork of staff made a really happy atmosphere in the face of the illness. My sister has been a resident at Castlemead for nearly three years, and she has become calmer and happier. I cannot praise the staff enough for their compassion and kindness, and particularly the first-rate, highly skilled nursing care she has received. My husband has been a resident of Dovecote Manor for one year and is very happy.

We also carried out observations to see how people who were not able to communicate their experiences were being cared for. Processes were in place to ensure staff had the skills and knowledge to support people who used the service. A regional training programme was developed in response to improvements identified through regular audits.

Staff had access to guidance to help them to identify, act on and protect people from the risk of abuse. Staff knew what action to take to raise an allegation of abuse for investigation to the service and the local authority. “Had recently used Castlegar nursing home for my mother, she was very happy there . I would highly recommend it and we found the staff very courteous and caring in the excellent way they looked after our mum." Thank you so much for the kindness and care shown at Aliwal Manor. We were unsure how Dad would settle at first, but the staff and other residents helped him feel at home which was a huge relief, knowing Dad received the right care when he needed it the most.
Claudia, Rosaleen, Laura, Jo and Shane have been working 7 days a week to get the vaccine out to healthcare workers and vulnerable groups as fast as possible... News of the closure, while not yet fully in the public domain, has caused deep shock in the county town and, indeed right across the county. Cuan Chaitrions had established a reputation as a high quality nursing home. The Sisters of Mercy were due to meet yesterday with staff to discuss the plans for closure. Michael Kilcoyne has written to Sr Elizabeth Manning, offering his services as a mediator. We spoke with people using the service and family members during our inspection.
We were delighted to see how my mother flourished at Primrose Croft and she is eagerly hoping for a return visit. I have visited my relative at least fortnightly for the last three years and at all times the staff are caring, friendly and attentive. Despite her initial nervousness, my grandmother settled into The Willows very quickly and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The level of service and attention to detail is second to none, and the manager and deputy go above and beyond for all the residents. “Pre-Covid the home was struggling financially but the decision to close was delayed, to safeguard the residents during an unprecedented pandemic. But the decision on its closure was postponed to “safeguard the residents during an unprecedented pandemic”.
There were systems in place to enable safe medicine administration. Staff undertook regular checks to ensure people received their medicines as prescribed.
